Dental Plus Visits IDS in Germany
As in 2017, the owners of Dental Plus Australasia ventured to the International Dental Show in Cologne, Germany, in 2019.
The visit in 2017 inspired the group of dentists to found Dental Plus, an innovative dental supplier based on the Gold Coast in Australia. The vision of the company was to become a convenient one-stop online shop for dentists in the country.
To further grow the local dental supplier, the team of dentists spent four days from the 12th to 15th of March 2019 in Cologne. The biennial International Dental Show is the largest event in Europe for the dental industry.
In 2017, the Dental Plus team signed contracts with the current manufacturers Dumont Instruments (diamond burs, tungsten carbide burs, polishers), Dreve Dentamid (bite registration, temporary cement, crown and bridge material), Dokuz Kimya (pattern resin), Bloomden Bioceramics (Zirconia), and Gebdi Dental (denture teeth).
This time, the dental supplier aimed to broaden its product offering. In addition, Dental Plus could network with over 2,300 exhibitors from all over the world. Many of them revealed new products, discussed industry trends with the 160,000 visitors from 166 countries, and displayed their innovations.
New impression material supplier Mueller-Omicron
One of the biggest wins for the company was the discovery of a German impression material manufacturer. Mueller-Omicron is based in Lindlar, not far away from Cologne.
The family business was founded in 1961 and has, since then, specialised in the development, production and distribution of dental and prosthetic materials. Their key product areas are impression material, disinfectants and light curing materials.
The German manufacturer shows an increased focus on innovation investing into the latest technologies and expanded research and development capacity. The company aims to further increase its innovation power and create even shorter development cycles for their products.
Mueller-Omicron materials are available in over 70 countries and Dental Plus is proud to become the official distributor for the Australian market. We are currently importing the impression material Betasil in the following product lines:

- Betasil vario light body
- Betasil vario implant (medium body)
- Betasil vario putty
- Betasil vario putty soft
Additionally, Dental Plus also offers the bite registration material ‘topas’ of the manufacturer Mueller-Omicron. All materials are already available in our online shop for purchase.
Other findings at the IDS
Apart from the new distributor contract with Mueller-Omicron, Dental Plus has also identified other key product areas and manufacturers. All potential products and materials must undergo a strict process of testing and evaluation before becoming part of Dental Plus online shop. We are looking forward to broadening our range with more additions our team discovered at the International Dental Show in the near future.
